SkyeFlight pilot and instructor Stuart also runs the Aero Careers website. It’s updated daily and filled with some of the latest Aviation jobs from across the world and running the site is something of a labour of love for him. Whether you’re a pilot or engineer looking for contract work or simply interested in checking out the vast variety of aviation careers there’s something here for everyone with almost any skill or vocation.
Stewart Dawber, who runs Skye Wild Life tours, was the first person ever to take a ‘SkyeFlight’ so as a thank you we would like to let you all in share his passion for photography and wildlife and his amazing contribution to the island. Check out Skye through his local knowledge and his camera lens!
The ‘SkyeFlight’ is brought to you by the Skye Flying Club, a group of flying loving local people who fly Skye as often as they can. There’s a whole mix of abilities, some are pilot licence holders and some are just starting their Aviation journey. All are welcome! Once you’ve had your ‘SkyeFlight’ you can join the club and learn to fly with James and the team. You’ll even have the opportunity to fly solo when you’re ready and get your very own licence all here locally on Skye!
Aerobility is a registered flying charity that makes flying available for the disabled and terminally ill across the UK. Our home here at Broadford airfield is now the northern most outpost of Aerobility in the UK. The charity holds a very special place in the hearts of our staff, particularly James and Stuart who both used to instruct together for Aerobility at Blackbushe airport in Surrey. Check out the incredible work on their website and if you’re a disabled person on Skye or in the surrounding area and want fly our aircraft you can through them and they’ll help subsidise the cost for you.
Dave Munro came to our original launch day and without us asking took 140 high quality photos of the day and let us have them all free of charge. He then wrote a great article on the day. He’s an aviation enthusiast and all round gent. Check out his blog all about aviation here on Skye, down the road at Plockton Airfield and pushing for commercial flights from the central belt in Scotland.
